Through its conferences, meetings and publications and via the internet, IMS promotes the sustainable production, promotion, trade and consumption of meat worldwide, besides providing networking opportunities for meat professionals from many countries.

The World Meat Congress, Regional Conferences, Meat Species Conferences, and Technical Symposia and Workshops.

Yes. The IMS provides a forum for meat scientists and industry professionals to discuss scientific issues that affect meat and livestock. Other IMS scientific activities include the IMS Prize for Meat Science and Technology, the IMS Meat Science Annual Lecture, and the monthly posting of meat scientific abstracts on this website.

Does IMS lobby for the meat and livestock industry ?

As the only international body catering exclusively to the requirements of the industry, IMS represents it at international inter-governmental organisations such as FAO, OIE, WHO, OECD. It also cooperates with these and other international organisations in the promotion of the international meat and livestock sector.
