IMS is the International Meat Secretariat. It brings together meat and livestock organisations throughout the world, in a single non-profit making association. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences on the issues affecting the international meat and livestock sector.

The Norwegian Meat Marketing Board
The Norwegian Meat Marketing Board was established in 1972, and our purpose is to increase the value of Norwegian pork, beef and lamb for the farmers. We are completely financed by Norwegian farmers.
We are 12 employees, and our knowledge is about:
- meat
- food and preparation
- nutrition and health
- communication and PR
- consumer, needs/demands and marketing
- farmer, industry and retail.
We inspire people to keep meat as part of a healthy diet through:
- Commercials for TV, print and web
- Websites
- Recipes on mobilephone
- Public relation
- Brochures in retail.
We also:
- Stimulate meat industry to produce products the consumer wants and needs
- Contribute with information to schools
- Educate teachers
- Provide information to public health nurses.
